Scoot flew its inaugural service TZ8 / TZ7 between Singapore and Perth today, using Boeing 777-212ER 9V-OTE, which was formerly with Singapore Airlines as 9V-SQH.
Flight TZ8 landed on Perth’s runway 21 at 18:10, arriving at Bay 55 on time, with Scoot CEO Campbell Wilson leaning out of the First Officer’s cockpit window to wave to the assembled media representatives. A pair of traditional Chinese lions danced amongst the crowds assembled near the Arrivals area inside the International Terminal (Terminal 1).
The aircraft departed back to Singapore on time, with flight TZ7 taking off at 19:46 from runway 21.
The service was originally to commence on 19 December 2013, but was brought forward by one week. Cheap flights from $88 one-way were offered when the service was launched, and prices are now from $119 one-way (as at time of writing).
Scoot will operate the service five times per week, using its bright yellow Boeing 777-212ER aircraft.
