Arriving direct from the Airbus factory at Toulouse in the south of France, after a flight lasting just under 16 hours as flight AIB151. It picked up a Qantas crew and flew to Sydney, where there was a large media event. Qantas announced an order for 12 A350-1000 aircraft under 'Project Sunrise', for use on long range routes, such as Sydney - New York, Sydney - London, or even Perth - Los Angeles direct.
