A Saryu-class offshore patrol vessel of the Indian Navy, INS Sumedha (P58) arrived at Fremantle Port on 14 August 2022 from Tanjung and stayed until 17 August, departing to Port Klang.

The visit was to celebrate the 75th anniversary of India’s independence (Independence Day is 15 August). Six Perth buildings were illuminated in the Indian tricolour. Indian Navy ships visited foreign ports in every continent simultaneously.

Inside the hangar was IN411 HAL (Sud Aviation) SA316B Chetak (MSN 1736/AH119) of the Indian Navy.
