9V-SKG Airbus A380-841 (MSN 019) of Singapore Airlines, at Perth Airport – 23 June 2019. SQ217 from Singapore to Melbourne, landing on Perth's runway 03 at 3:55pm, due to a medical diversion, the second time 9V-SKG has diverted to Perth. It diverted when approximately 350 kilometres east of Carnarvon. The flight continued on to Melbourne after offloading the ill passenger, taking off at 5:41pm. Photo © David Eyre.

RA-76503 Ilyushin IL-76TD-90VD (MSN 2113422748) of Volga-Dnepr Airlines at Perth Airport – 3 June 2019. Delivered new to Volga-Dnepr in December 2011, this aircraft arrived in Perth on 24 May 2019, bringing oversized mining equipment to Perth. This is an Il-76TD with Aviadvigatel PS-90 engines and a partial glass cockpit. It was developed specially for Volga-Dnepr cargo company. It stayed for 20 days, waiting for its next cargo load, then departed on 12 November 2019 back to Melbourne as VI2087. Built in 1992 as CCCP-82067, later RA-82046, for Volga-Dnepr. Sport Aircraft Builders Club Annual Fly-in, Serpentine Airfield: 27 October 2019

VH-DED Rutan 33 VariEze VariJet (MSN W91) owned by Geoffrey Danes, at Sport Aircraft Builders Club (SABC) Annual Fly-In, Serpentine Airfield - 27 October 2019. Built as a piston-powered VariEze by Geoff Danes and first flown on 12 September 1979, this was the second VariEze built in Australia. From around 2010, the aircraft was slowly converted to jet power, using a Turbomeca Palas, a centrifugal turbojet engine designed in France in 1950 to power light aircraft. Geoff made the first flight of the 'VariJet' with the jet engine one year ago, on 28 October 2018, at Jandakot Airport. Photo © David Eyre.

Cathay Pacific switches Perth – Hong Kong services to Boeing 777-300ER from Airbus A350

Air New Zealand resumes Boeing 787 Auckland – Perth services, replacing leased Wamos Air A330 ZK-NZE Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner of Air New Zealand in special all black livery, at Perth Airport - 29 October 2023. Air New Zealand resumed operating Auckland services using its own aircraft from today. ZK-NZE is seen departing as NZ176 to Auckland on 29 October. To enable Air New Zealand to build capacity while bringing other stored aircraft back online after the COVID-19 pandemic, the airline had wet-leased (aircraft plus crew) Airbus A330-243 aircraft from Spanish airline Wamos Air from 15 November 2022 to 28 October 2023. Wamos Air A330-200 EC-NCK was flown to New Zealand on 10 November 2022 and entered service on the Perth route from 15 November 2022, operating daily as NZ173 from Auckland and departing as NZ174. It operated its final Perth-Auckland service on 27 April 2023 and was replaced by EC-NBN until 28 October 2023. ANA resumes Tokyo – Perth services JA893A Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner of ANA, at Perth Airport, Western Australia - 29 October 2023. **Resumption of passenger services to Perth by ANA today** Flight NH881 at bay 153, Terminal 1, after arriving from Tokyo-Narita at 7:49pm. It departed as NH882 at 10:31pm. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, ANA suspended Perth services, with their final passenger service on 30 March 2020 (they operated some freight services in January 2021).
