Qantas retires its last Boeing 747

This marks the temporary return of Qantas' Boeing 747s to Perth, operating domestic flights between Sydney and Perth for crew training purposes, prior to the gradual retirement of the Boeing 747 from Qantas' fleet by 2020. Delivered new to Volga-Dnepr in December 2011, this aircraft arrived in Perth on 24 May 2019, bringing oversized mining equipment to Perth. This is an Il-76TD with Aviadvigatel PS-90 engines and a partial glass cockpit. It was developed specially for Volga-Dnepr cargo company.
