Built in 1947, first registered in the UK as G-AJPX on 12 May 1947 as an Auster V J/1 Autocrat. Delivered to Air Schools Ltd, Derby (Burnaston), UK. Cancelled 1.8.51 as sold in Australia, where it was registered VH-AYJ on 22 Nov 1951. Converted in 1959 to Auster J/1L “Kingsmith” by Kingsford-Smith Aviation Services, re-engined with a 150 hp Lycoming O-320, added wheel spats (later removed) and modifications.
