NHD-KA

VH-NHD / “B-1727 / 2” Sopwith Pup, named “Normie” owned by Bert Filippi but flown by Werner Buhlmann.

Built in 2009. Whilst almost all parts in VH-NHD are original of that era, only the windshield and the joystick are from the original Pup B-1727 “Normie”, and for that reason it is registered as a replica.

Even to the most discerning eye, this aircraft cannot be distinguished from a Sopwith Scout out of the Standard Aviation Factory in Sutton in 1917, and it is powered by an original rotary engine.

This is what makes VH-NHD unique – other aircraft registered as Sopwith Pups have radial engines, a steel fuselage, modern fabric, not to mention tail wheels and brakes.

WWA-KA

VH-WWA North American AT-6D Texan (cn 78-7094) flown by Adrian Thomas.

Landing on runway 11 (near Victoria Avenue) at Langley Park.

Built in 1942.
Ex 41-16716 US Army Air Force, then
FAP0106 Paraguayan Air Force, then to US civil register as N6069H.
Registered in 1994 as VH-WWA.

Photo © Keith Anderson

YND-KA

VH-YND / 362 Boeing E75 (N2S-5) Stearman, (cn 75-5362), flown by Carl Ende, landing on runway 11 (near Victoria Avenue) at Langley Park.

Built in 1942 as a PT-13D Stearman with US Army Air Force serial 42-17199.
Transferred to US Navy as N2S-5 with Bureau of Aeronautics serial 61240.
Believed to have then gone to an owner in Nicaragua.
Registered 2006 to Carl Ende as VH-YND.

Wears US Navy markings, with serial “362” derived from manufacturer’s construction number (75-5362). It also has a a serial “42-755362” painted in small digits on the nose. True serials are actually 42-17199 (USAAF) and Bureau Number 61240 (USN).
