VH-IXE Partenavia P.68B Victor (MSN 178) owned by the Royal Aero Club of WA, at Jandakot Airport – Fri 5 September 2014. This was recently purchased by the Royal Aero Club from RACWA member Ian Robertson at a bargain price, and it has 12,000 flying hours remaining on the wings. It joins another P.68B, VH-WZG, in the RACWA fleet. Behind VH-IXE is another RACWA P.68, VH-PNT, which has been with the Club since new in 1976, but is now withdrawn from use after accruing 22,350 flying hours. VH-PNT has only 800 flying hours left before the aircraft would require new engines and new wings, and the last inspection revealed corrosion, requiring the spar caps to be replaced. It is not economic to refurbish VH-PNT, so it is being stripped of spare parts. Photo © David Eyre
