Delivered on 4 June 2023 and entered service on 26 July 2023 as the first of two new H145-D3s for WA Police. This D3 version has a five-bladed main rotor.
WA Police was the first law enforcement jurisdiction in the Southern Hemisphere to operate the H145.
Equipped for single-pilot and instrument flight rules, with night vision, a fully-integrated police mission system, Airbus Helionix avionics suite and four-axis autopilot.
It has video and data-link technology allowing high-definition footage to be live-streamed to any WA Police officer via their OneForce mobile phone as well as direct to the State Operation Command Centre (SOCC).
This provides both frontline responders and command teams with crucial intelligence, enhancing operational awareness in real-time.
The H145 can be airborne in just two minutes – eight minutes faster than the previous Air Wing helicopters (BK117 and AS365N3) – and can fly further, faster.
