F-WMIL Airbus A350-1041 (MSN 059) owned by Airbus, with ‘Qantas – Our Spirit flies further’ titles, at Perth Airport – 1 May 2022. Arriving direct from the Airbus factory at Toulouse in the south of France, after a flight lasting just under 16 hours as flight AIB151. It picked up a Qantas crew and flew to Sydney, where there was a large media event. Qantas announced an order for 12 A350-1000 aircraft under ‘Project Sunrise’, for use on long range routes, such as Sydney – New York, Sydney – London, or even Perth – Los Angeles direct.
