February 1 Malaysia Airlines formally joined the Oneworld airline alliance 
March 2 Perth Airport Terminal 2 opened for airline operations
March 31 Air Mauritius introduce a third weekly Mauritius – Perth service, using Airbus A330-200 aircraft. The airline is also changing the flight numbers from MK940/MK941 to MK440/MK441.
Schedule from 31 March 2013 is as follows:WED & FRI & SUN: MK440 arr 09:45 / MK441 dep 13:05 Qantas Perth-Hong Kong (QF67/68) service to cease.Qantas to use Boeing 767-300ER aircraft with new interiors and individual in-flight entertainment on all weekday flights between Brisbane and Perth from this date.
April Helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft leased by Department of Fire and Emergency Services for 2012/13 fire season will be returned to owners
April 1 Indonesia AirAsia add a fourth (night time) service to its Perth – Denpasar (Bali) route, using Airbus A320 aircraft:
TUE/THU/SAT: QZ8418 arr PER 00:20 / QZ8419 dep PER 01:25Jetstar Asia (Singapore) is providing additional services between Singapore and Perth, using Airbus A320 aircraft (9V- registered)
1 APR 2013 – 4 MAY 2013: MON/TUE/THU/FRI/SAT: 3K 133 arrives at Perth 07:30 / 3K134 departs Perth at 08:10
April 13 & 14 Valley View Vintage and Military Fly In – Valley View Air Strip (11 miles East of Geraldton Airport) – see http://www.valleyviewvintage.com.au/index.phpMyrup Fly-In, Myrup Fly In Estate, 17km SE of Esperance Airport
April 15 Qantas Perth-Singapore service (currently twice daily) will be reduced to one flight per day (QF77/78). The flight will be re-timed for better connection to onwards flights in Asia while also making a same-day return into Perth.
QF77 will leave Perth at 09:50 (instead of 11:55) for arrival into Singapore at 15:20 / Return to Perth as QF78 for 23:30 arrival.
May Broome Airport – refurbishment of the terminal departure lounges to be completed by end of month
May 19 Wyalkatchem Fly-In & Sausage Sizzle
June 1 Philippine Airlines commence services from Manila via Darwin to Perth, four times per week using Airbus A320 aircraft.TUE / THU / SUN (Airbus A320): PR219 arrives Perth 07:50 / PR220 departs Perth 08:50
June 8 Royal Aero Club of WA Bomber Command Formation Flight – Formation groups depart Jandakot at 15:00 over Fremantle, along Swan River, over Kings Park War Memorial, to Observation City, Powerhouse and back to Jandakot.
June 24 Jetstar Asia (Singapore) is providing additional services between Singapore and Perth, using Airbus A320 aircraft (9V- registered)3K 133 arrives at Perth 07:30 / 3K134 departs Perth at 08:10

  • 24 JUNE 2013 – 31 JULY 2013: MON to SAT
  • 2 AUG 2013 – 16 SEP 2013: MON/WED/FRI/SAT
  • 17 SEP 2013 – 26 OCT 2013: MON to SAT
June 28 Garuda Indonesia re-start GA726/GA729 services between Perth and Denpasar (Bali): DAILY (B737-800): GA726 Arrives PER 16:25 / GA729 departs PER at 17:25
July 1 Garuda Indonesia re-start direct services between Perth and Jakarta:DAILY (B737-800): GA724 Arrives PER 15:50 / GA725 departs PER 17:40
September 29 SABC Annual Fly-In, Serpentine Airfield
October 26 Jetstar Asia (Singapore) FINAL additional service between Singapore and Perth, using Airbus A320 aircraft (9V- registered): 3K 133 arrives at Perth 07:30 / 3K134 departs Perth at 08:10
By end of 2013 Qantas to retire:

  • all Rolls-Royce powered, former British Airways Boeing 767-336ER aircraft (VH-ZXA to ZXG)
  • all remaining Boeing 737-400s
