Jetstar Airways has today announced a new 4-times weekly service between Perth and the Indonesian island of Lombok, which is located to the east of Bali, commencing from 24 September 2013.

Lombok is gaining popularity as a tourist destination, being considered as similar to Bali in the 1990s, but more relaxed and less impacted by tourists. Currently, Australians have to fly via Denpasar in Bali to reach Lombok, but the new service will be the first enabling direct flights to Lombok.

Airbus A320s will be used, with the schedule as follows:

TUE/THU/FRI/SUN: JQ112 Dep Perth 1030 – Arr Lombok 1410 / JQ111 Dep Lombok 1510 – Arr Perth 1845
