Jetstar considering temporarily using Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners on domestic services

Jetstar has announced that it is considering using its new Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners on domestic routes for a period from November 2013, before switching them to international services.

The domestic flights may reportedly include services from Perth, Sydney, and Melbourne to Cairns and the Gold Coast.

The first Boeing 787-8 for Jetstar, to be registered VH-VKA, in currently in final assembly at Boeing’s Seattle Everett factory. It is due for delivery in late September.

Jetstar has 14 Boeing 787-8s on order, in a 335-seat configuration, with 21 Recaro recliner business class seats in a 2+3+2 configuration at 38-inch seat pitch, and 314 slimline Pinnacle economy seats in 3+3+3 configuration at 31-inch pitch.
